Your child's creativity will ignite during our Digital Design Workshops. See the event listing for full details.

These workshops are for children aged 8 to 16yrs.

1030-1200 Laser-cut Bookmark

Create a design for a laser-cut and laser-engraved bookmark. Our Digital Making Tutor will guide your child/ren through a design workshop explaining how laser cutting works and will support them to create their own design. Graphics and text will be combined to make their design.

The bookmarks will be cut from 3mm plywood and the workshop includes 1 bookmark in their design.

1330-1500 3D Printed Named Keyring

Create a 3D design for their very own named keyring. Our Digital Making Tutor will explain how 3D printing works and will guide your child/ren through the design process.

The keyrings will be printed in red material and the workshop includes one print.

Making of their Design/s

All designs will not be made during the workshop. They will be made back at the FabLab and will be sent back to the library holding the workshop for collection (We will advise you about this).

Please note:

Tickets will be on sale until the day before workshop or if tickets have sold out. It will not be possible to turn up on the day without a ticket - tickets are essential.

Children aged 8yrs+ can stay in the workshop without an adult. Emergency contact details will be taken during the checkout process. Children should be dropped off to the workshop and collected from the library at the end of the workshop.

Covid-19 Information:

Any workshop attendees should not attend the workshop if they are displaying any symptoms of Covid 19 including a cough. If your child is unwell please email us to let us know. If a child is seen to be unwell during the session, we will arrange with you for them to be collected.

Workshop participants will be sat nearby each other so, if you prefer, face masks can be worn in the workshop. This is not currently expected so it's optional.

This workshop will be held on the ground floor of the library so access is good.
