A one-hour taster session in laser cutting, 3D design or digital embroidery for adults 16yrs+.

Welcome to our One-Hour Taster Sessions

Our one-hour Taster Sessions are for anyone aged 16yrs+ who would like to experience either laser engraving & cutting, 3D design or Digital Embroidery. These sessions are perfect if you are considering joining the FABLAB and want to have a go first or simply if you'd like to learn some new skills and see our machines in action.

Our Digital Making Tutor will take you through a design project teaching you how to use the software and then will make your project.

Laser-cut and digital embroidery projects will be made during the session. 3D printing takes hours and a time will be arranged for you to come back to collect your design once it has printed. Or, we can post it to you for a P&P fee.

You can either sign up one person (£15) or two people from the same household (£25). All participants need to be 16yrs+.

Please note that two designs can be made in the same session for the laser-cutter and 3D printing projects. We only have one digital embroidery machine. You may wish to sign up for digital embroidery as individual bookings or you could book in two people and create the design together (We will run the same project twice so you both get to keep a copy).

Laser engraving & cutting - either a keyring in acryllic or a bookmark in plywood including images and text.

Digital embroidery - a single-colour small design stitched on felt.

3D Design - a 3D keyring with a base shape plue text and other objects placed on top.

You will be asked which project you would like to complete during the checkout process.
