FABLAB Exeter Learn TO Lates is our brand new concept specifically for busy people who still want to create something aged 16yrs+. Learn some new design skills with us in the evening. This workshop is perfect for children, people with younger children - after bedtime or if you work and can't otherwise attend daytime workshops.
The session is not live so you will be able to design at a time that suits you. When you purchase a ticket, you will be able to login to Eventbrite and access an online event page. From Friday 20th November you will see design notes and tutorial videos which will guide you through the designing process. Your design will need to be emailed to us no later than Friday 4th December so we can make it and post it you ahead of Christmas.
Marcus Brown, our Digital Making Tutor, will take you through a short design demonstration using a web-based platform to create your own digital photo collage. You could either use your own digital photos to personalise your design or you can choose from thousands of high-quality, royalty-free images built into the system we use.
The software platform used for this workshop is web-based so as long as you have a laptop or desktop computer and an internet connection, you're good to start!
The Tote bags can be used for yourself, or they make beautiful personalised gifts. We can print additional Tote bags if you want to send them as gifts. The beauty of Tote bags is they can be folded into a small envelope for postage to your friends or family.
The workshop cost includes one print in colour on to one Tote bag on the front. Additional bags can be paid for in the checkout process or by emailing us and we can take a card payment. We use dye-sublimation printing techniques which are permanent and the bag/s can be machine washed. They are white and 100% polyester.
The aim is to post out your Tote Bag/s within two weeks of the workshop. We have no idea how many we will need to be making!
