Organised by: FabLab Devon
Date: Fri 23rd April 2021
Time: 12:00 to 12:00
Location: Online event
FABLAB Exeter is a Digital Makerspace based inside Exeter Library. Following the success of our workshops during the recent lockdown, here are our NEW online workshops that are designed to take about an hour to complete.
These sessions are designed for children and adults aged 8-108yrs who want to learn some design skills. Younger children can take part but an adult will need to support them as some skills may need some help.
Workshops 1 to 3 are brand new projects and larger than projects included in the Lockdown. They are all based on using the laser-cutter. See photos of the projects in the images at the bottom of this page. Please note postage is only available to UK locations.
You can sign up for one, two or all three workshops - that's up to you. If you sign up to all three there is a discount! See the available tickets (You'll need to sign up for a workshop until a day before the workshop is due to be sent out).
Parent consent: Part of the checkout process includes a consent form your your child to take part in our workshops. (where appropriate).
Online Workshop Emails
When you have completed your ticket purchase/s, you will receive an email confirmation from Eventbrite. Then, on the day of each workshop, you'll receive an email by 12:00 containing notes and links to video tutorials.
What will happen?
Marcus Brown, our Digital Making Tutor at FABLAB Exeter, will take you through a short design demonstration which is a recorded video which you will receive on each date. You will receive an email on each date with a link to view the video and other notes that might be useful. The demonstration will take approx 30 minutes and then it's your turn to have a go at designing your own! You will be able to watch the video (or parts of the video again) if you get stuck or want to complete the workshop on a different day.
Can't make Fridays? That's fine, each Friday you'll receive an email with a video link and you can watch the video at any time that suits you. You can access the workshop at any time 24/7 in the week following the workshop date.
Please note that you will be provided with a deadline date for each workshop. Your design must be sent in to us no later than a week after your workshop email was sent to you. This will be the following Friday at 12:00. We will not be able to make any late designs so it's important that you send your design to us by email before the deadline.

You can specify on your ticket whether we will post this to you (2nd class post) or whether you prefer to collect it from Exeter Library. If you are collecting, we will email when your design is made and when it will be available for collection.
